Rodeo, Rodeo, wherefore art thou Rodeo?

This Friday marks the beginning of the annual Belize, National Agriculture & Trade Show. The show goes on over the weekend (April 26 to 28), and there’s lots to do and see for everyone. Even if you’re just visiting Belize, go along to the National Showgrounds in Belmopan where live entertainment, events and activities for all ages can be enjoyed. There’ll also be a canoe race, a beauty pageant, a motocross show and of course the rodeo!

The National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) is an annual event in our Capital, Belmopan. The show was established in 1970 and today the event is spread out over 60 acres. Included in the events there are mechanical rides and this year there will also be children friendly areas where the sale and consumption of alcohol is restricted.

This years theme is “Innovations in Technology: Driving a Climate Resilient and Competitive Agriculture and Food Sector” and you’ll learn more about how our farmers get food to our tables and see how Belize is striving to keep locally produced foods healthy and beneficial to our bodies.

If you’re staying with us at Parrot Cove Lodge, ask at our front desk about options for getting there. Or do something completely different and take one of our tours or excursions.

But if you prefer to just chill on our beach or read a book poolside, and have our staff take care of you, — we’ve got you!
