Last week I had the pleasure of being part of the BTB delegation at the Verre Reizen (Far Travels) trade show in Gorinchem, the Netherlands.
It was a lot of fun to dust off my Dutch again and reconnect with the language. Even more encouraging was discovering that Dutch travelers are becoming increasingly familiar with Belize and genuinely interested in visiting our beautiful country. It was great to see the curiosity and enthusiasm for everything Belize has to offer.
On a personal note, my first three days in the Netherlands were fantastic. I spent time with my son and my brother, enjoyed beautiful weather in Amsterdam, and, once again, fell in love with that amazing city.
Then came day four…
Autumn arrived with a vengeance: dark clouds, heavy rain, and even hailstorms. It was exactly the reminder I needed that, after more than 25 years, Belize truly is home.Â
So, even though I wasn’t physically in Belize, I was still technically working from home, from home, from home…
